Manage the MCP server

Once your AI client is connected, the product's MCP server needs no attention: it starts with the product and keeps your clients configured. This page covers the occasions when you act on it, all from the AI Settings panel of sapio365 or of your EZ Suite product.

Stop or start the server

Click Stop server: AI clients cannot reach the product until you start it again. The client configurations stay in place, and the product remembers that the server is stopped the next time it starts. Click Start server to start it again.

The server runs only with a Full or Trial license that includes the AI (MCP) feature. The product checks the license each time the server starts, when the product opens or when you click Start server:

  • Without the feature, the server does not start. When you click Start server, the product shows This feature is only available with an AI (MCP) license. When the product opens, it shows no message, and the panel shows the server as Stopped.

  • A server already running keeps running until you stop it or close the product.

  • The AI clients you configured keep their entries, and reach the product again once its server runs.

Remove a client's configuration

With the server running, click Remove config on the client's card. The product removes from that client every entry that reaches this product or the Ytria documentation server, whatever its name, including entries you added by hand, and stops maintaining that client.

The mcp-ytria-docs entry serves every Ytria product. When you remove it from a client in one product, the other products show that client as Not configured until they put the entry back: click Apply config in them, or restart them.

Automatic upkeep

Each time the server starts, the product adds its entries back to the clients you configured if they have gone missing, for example after you reinstalled a client.

The startup reminder

When the product starts its server and no AI client can reach it, it shows No AI client can reach <product> yet, with the clients it found and a pointer to the AI Settings panel. Tick Do not warn me again to hide it. The reminder stays hidden when you start the server from the panel yourself, and while a job or an automation script is running.

Change the port

The products use port 33380 by default. Change it only if another program already uses that port. Each product keeps its own port.

  1. With the server running, click the Edit port icon.

  2. In Edit the MCP server port, enter a Port number between 1024 and 49151, then click Save. The server restarts on the new port.

  3. Click Apply config again for each of your AI clients, then restart them.

Changing the port removes the configuration of every AI client that has one, because clients find the product by its address. This includes entries you added by hand and the documentation server entry: apply the configuration again to every client you use.

Run several products at once

Each product has its own address on the same port, for example http://localhost:33380/sapio365/, http://localhost:33380/scanez/ and http://localhost:33380/databaseez/. An AI client configured from each of them uses all of them at once, and sees each one as a separate server: mcp-sapio365, mcp-scanez, mcp-databaseez.

Run the same product more than once

The first instance of a product takes its usual address, for example …/sapio365/; the next ones take …/sapio365-2/, …/sapio365-3/ and so on, up to 8. When another instance starts its server, it adds itself to the clients you configured, where it appears as mcp-sapio365-2, mcp-sapio365-3 and so on. In your requests, say which instance, tenant, database or server you mean. Copy address shows the address of the instance you are looking at.
