Troubleshooting EZ Suite Update Issues Using YtriaUpdate

If your EZ Suite tools fail to update when using the “Check for Updates” option and the process hangs, the issue might be due to an outdated version of YtriaUpdate and an old version of the application.

In recent versions, the YtriaUpdate tool was renamed to YtriaCheckForNewerVersions.exe and is typically located in the Notes data directory in the YTRIA_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT folder.

When the main application detects that this updater is outdated, it may freeze during the update check.

How to Fix the Issue

There are two ways to resolve this problem:

  1. Run the Update Tool Manually

    • Navigate to your Notes data directory to the YTRIA_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT folder.

    • Locate the file YtriaCheckForNewerVersions.exe and launch it manually.

    • It should update all EZ Suite files (except itself). Even if it’s not the latest version, it can usually complete the update successfully.

  2. Replace the Updater with the Latest Version
